Responsibilities
Philip Camble joined Cushman & Wakefield Hospitality EMEA in March 2007, based in London and leads the firm’s Development Advisory service line. From London he covers markets worldwide, with particular expertise in project specific and master-planning market appraisals, management contract negotiations, hotel valuations and the Middle East.
Recent Successes
Philip has over 20 years of experience in the hospitality sector, having worked in operations, as development director for a hotel company and as a professional adviser for more than 10 years. A sample of his most recent projects includes:
· Development Advisory
This is an important service line for Cushman & Wakefield Hospitality and covers all types of hospitality development (hotels, resorts, mixed-use, golf, marinas) from vacant sites through design and planning to appointment of operators;
· Master-planning and Market Appraisals
Philip is heavily involved in a number of mixed-use projects, in such locations as: Morocco, Mozambique, Turkey and Comoros. Current projects include being the Hospitality Adviser to Oqyana, owners of 19 islands on The World in Dubai (comprising Australia and New Zealand);
· Valuation
Philip is an experienced valuer of hotels (since 1994) across a variety of countries and settings. Recent valuations were undertaken in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates;
· Recent Operator Selection Experience
Recent assignments have included sourcing, negotiating and supporting clients in Morocco, Dubai, Cairo (Egypt), Cape Verde and various locations in Turkey;
· Operator Support Services
Working with an established brand, Philip has provided valuable assistance in developing their management contract business line to facilitate their negotiations with owners and developers. Projects included contractual support on commercial terms for a resort in New Jersey, USA and support with regard to their operator selection submission for a new development in Manhattan, New York;
· Design Advice
Supporting developers and architects in the concept design and layout drawings of proposed new hotel developments (working very closely with international firms of architects);
· Other Experience
Philip has also advised: government-funded bodies in terms of tourism strategies and visitor surveys; on market studies for convention centres in Europe and the Middle East; market appraisals for office development in CIS; and demand analysis for private members clubs.

General
Prior to joining Cushman & Wakefield, Philip was Senior Manager of KPMG’s Travel, Leisure & Tourism Advisory team. He is a Fellow of the British Association of Hospitality Accounts, founded the annual New Year Hotel Summit with The Bench and is a regular panellist/moderator at industry conferences (including the Arab Hotel Investment Conference in Dubai). He also created the biannual Cushman & Wakefield EMEA Hotels Monitor bringing in STR Global and EC Harris as co-.
Philip has a very commercial outlook on the hospitality sector and is a proven deal facilitator. Prior to joining KPMG, he was the founding development director for Luxury Hotel Partners (a niche hotel operator specialising in independent luxury hotels) and ran his own consultancy in Cyprus.
In addition, Philip is an experienced valuer of hotels having previously been Managing Consultant at PKF Hotel Consultants in London and Cyprus.
